Class Schedule

CIC’s Class Schedule has been updated and classes start in late September.

Classes will be held at 1412 W Irving Park Rd (just a few doors east of our theater space)as we look for a new home!

Level 1: CIC Fundamentals
Instructor Rudy Mendoza

Dates: Sundays, 12-3pm beginning May 5th

Not merely a long-form basics course, Level 1 focuses on our theater’s core beliefs of play in scene, ensemble, and show. It is a great starting point for any long-form improviser.

All Students Welcome. This program is designed to be taken as one unit.

 

Level 2: Scene
Farrell Walsh

Dates: Saturdays, 3-6pm beginning May 4th

Two person scenes: the building blocks of any long-form show. This level focuses on finding the dynamic between characters quickly, allowing play through point of view rather than idea introduction. As well as identifying and honing individual strengths and working on areas of growth.

Required: Students must have completed CIC’s Level 1 class, another theater’s full long-form improv training program, or have two years of long-form improv experience. This program is designed to be taken as one unit.

 

Level 3: Ensemble
Jorin Garguilo

Dates: Saturdays, 12-3pm, beginning May 4th

Defining of roles that exist within an improv ensemble. Working collaboratively within a group of performers Recognizing and addressing the needs of a collective performance. Considering performer types and tendencies with a preference toward developing flexibility.

Required: Students must have completed CIC Level 2. This program is designed to be taken as one unit.

Level 4: Show
Kyle Bethea

Dates: Mondays, 7-10pm, beginning April 29th

The elements of play necessary to make a long-form show successful. Exploration, heightening, connections, expansion within the piece.

Required: Students must have completed CIC Level 3. This program is designed to be taken as one unit.

Level 5: Performance
Farrell Walsh

Dates : Tuesdays, 7-10pm, beginning April 30th

Individual feedback. Honing strengths in both scene and show work. Challenging growth in other areas. Includes 8 weeks of performances on Wednesdays at 8pm. Start date of shows TBD.

Required: Students must have completed CIC Level 4. This program is designed to be taken as one unit.
